NOLA FUNdraisers
Watch for these and more NOLA (New Orleans, Louisana)
fundraisers throughout the year to help support our Youth Group Trip to
New Orleans on August 3 - 10.
April 13: Pancake Breakfast
The Youth Group will be holding a delicious fundraiser on Sunday morning, April 13, towards their Youth Work Trip to New Orleans this Summer. From 9:00 to 10:15am this Sunday morning the Youth Group will be hosting and serving a pancake breakfast you will long remember. It will feature the famous Harris/Muller buttermilk pancakes accompanied by sausages, orange juice and coffee.
The cost of a single ticket is $5.00 and there is a family cap of $20. So, gather up your family and friends and come show your support for the LSC Youth Group. Once again, all proceeds will help fund the Youth Work Trip this summer to New Orleans.
May 11: Mother's Day & Family Pictures After Church
Mark your calendar for the 2nd Annual LSC Photo on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 11th. LSC member and photographer Jack Cain will take pictures of you and your loved ones. Sign up begins May 4 or if you wish you may gather your family, friends, or small group members in the Courtyard after the Church Service on May 11.
All the proceeds will benefit the LSC Youth Group Summer Work Trip to rebuild the homes of people displaced by Hurricane Katrina. For more information, please contact Youth Director, Dave Howser at 847-864-2181, ext. 103.
June 21: Pet Wash and Blessing
Mark your calandars once again to help raise funds for the Youth's New Orleans work trip. They are planning a Dog Wash and Pet Blessing for Saturday, June 21 from 1 to 3 in the courtyard. For a very reasonable fee (a sliding size-scale to be announced soon), our youth will pamper your pooch with lather and love, and an honest-to-goodness Minister will bless all beasts, from Cocker Spaniels to Cockatoos, German Shepherds to Gerbils.
You may be asking, how will we pull this off without utter mayhem?
Glad you asked--Here are our safety/comfort measures:
1. The wash/blessing area will be within fencing to protect animals from the street and plantings from the pets.
2. Water will be warm and cotton balls will go in ears to prevent infections.
3. Four-legged creatures must be on a leash at all times, and others should stay in their cages or terrariums.
4. If you think your beloved won't be able to handle the scene, just don't bring them.
Come yourself and pick up a blessing in absentia!
We wish to thank our VERY ENTHUSIASTIC sponsor, Fit and Frisky, a pet supply store located at 1016 Davis. Judy Fisk,
owner of Fit and Frisky is donating shampoo and treat bundles for all the dogs.
